We had a great time on our field trip to Denver Health today. Thanks so much for all your donations. The representative from Newborns in Need was delighted! The students thoroughly enjoyed exploring the tunnels underneath the hospital to get to the baby room where they put together a welcome bag for a baby girl and a baby boy. We even got an opportunity to peek into the nursery and see a very tiny newborn baby!

Thank You
It was lovely to see so many of you last night, and I know the students had a wonderful time. Thanks so much to the parents that hosted and helped organize the event. I would also like to say a huge thank you for my end of year gift. It has truly been a joy to work with your children this year. I am so sad to see them go!

Biography Tea
I hope you all enjoyed the Biography Tea yesterday. It is always one of my favorite days. The students looked fabulous in their creative costumes! They all spoke confidently and knowledgeably during the Tea and impressed everyone who attended. The presentations in the classroom truly demonstrated how much they had learned. I could tell how much time and hard work had gone into practicing at home. Thank you for all your help and support with this project.

A Visit from Dr. Ledges
Thank you to Dr. Ledges who came into school yesterday to talk to the second graders about Denver Health and his job in the E.R. We learned more about the hospital and it's mission, and are excited to visit in a few weeks. The students had lots of interesting questions to ask Dr. Ledges, and he was very impressed with how much they have learned about the human body during science lessons.

Soccer!
As a reward for working so hard on the ERB tests this week, Mr. Hall and Coach Luca came to teach us some soccer skills this afternoon. There was lots of fancy footwork and creative play. Our coaches were very impressed!

Earth Day
To celebrate Earth Day, the students created natural sculptures inspired by the art of Andy Goldsworthy. They searched the campus grounds to find interesting things to incorporate into their artwork, then worked individually or in groups to create a masterpiece! Once the sculpture was photographed, the students returned everything to its rightful place.
